Marissa Licata attended Seton Hall Law School and graduated in 2013. After clerking for a Supreme Court Judge, Civil Division, in Bergen County, New Jersey, she started working at the Rockland County District Attorney’s Office. She has prosecuted hundreds of cases, ranging from driving while intoxicated, domestic violence, drug cases, property offenses, assaults, and other crimes. After earning a promotion to Senior Assistant District Attorney, she presented dozens of cases to the Grand Jury, and completed numerous hearings and trials. In this senior role, she was responsible for training new ADAs, supervising FOIL (Freedom of Information) requests, and worked in the Special Investigations Unit, prosecuting While Collar crime. Additionally, Ms. Licata supported the Appeals Unit.

After about 6 years of prosecuting cases in Rockland, Ms. Licata decided it was time to transfer her skills into criminal defense. Ms. Licata opened her own private law firm, The Law Offices of Marissa L. Licata, in 2020. Ms. Licata focuses on criminal and traffic offenses. Ms. Licata is barred in New York and New Jersey, and is a member of the Rockland County Bar Association.  She is also a Make-A-Wish, wish granter for Make-A-Wish Hudson Valley.
